Alright so i am 29 years old and a resident of Buffalo NY. For some time now there has been quite the scene here. Although the names have changed the music still remains to be of great quality. Many a band has started here before moving toward greener pastures in other markets. I have DJ'ed on 91.3 FM WBNY for 6 years as host of the Tiny Elvis Indie Rock Show. I Also was a co-host of the local show which featured and highlighted local artists in the area with live interviews and in studio performances. We were able to create a scene of Musicians in the area and help them to blossom into what they are today. On the Local show I had the pleasure of interviewing the bands as they did their on-air performances. In those years i have done hundreds of interviews from national to local of all genres of music. From Guided by Voices to Calvin Johnson to the folk rock of Tom Stahl and everyone in-between. I also was almost independently responsible for reviewing the indie that came through the station taking home 15 albums at a time to check out while working 3 jobs i still found time for my love of music. I know that these artists work hard at their art and if I hadn’t taken such an abundance of albums home they might have ever been listened to, as is such the case will all stations and even college FM stations. I found quite a bit of Gems in my time and some that still sting my ears with sorrow but never the less they were addressed they were reviewed and they had at least an opportunity.
